Hammocking on a perfect day at Fort DeSoto's North Beach St Pete Florida

Kicking Back with Toes in the Water Hammocking at Fort DeSoto
I must say, it doesn't get any better than this. Found these two dead trees right on the beach at Fort DeSoto. They still seemed pretty sturdy though I do recommend hanging your hammock from living trees rather than dead ones! My Ticket to the Moon hammock is perfect for this as it dries quickly so no problem with sea spray and a wet swimming suit! And with the double size hammock you can use some of the extra material to shade yourself from the sun so no umbrella necessary. Perfect Sky Vue!

Hammocking at Fort DeSoto's North Beach, St Pete, Florida
Right on the beach at Fort DeSoto
You can't beat Fort DeSoto for hammocking, at least not in the St Pete area. So many choices from shady palms to these trees that are just a few feet from the Gulf at Fort DeSoto's North Beach. If you are a camper, the campground also is full of perfect palm trees with views of the water right in the campsites.
I love Ticket to the Moon's silky parachute nylon hammocks for the beach. I get out of the water and can get right into the hammock. The fabric dries quickly so I don't stay wet. And since I use a double size hammock, I can use the fabric to block the sun and/or the wind. And the stuff sack attached to the side of the hammock holds most books perfectly.
Do you have a favorite spot for hammocking in the Tampa Bay area? I'd love to hear about it!

Checking Out a Couple of Perfect Hammock Palms at Fort De Soto Park in St Petersburg, Florida
A brand new blog to share some favorite spots to "hang out" in Florida. I always have a Ticket to the Moon hammock or two in our VW Eurovan because you never know when you might come across those two perfect hammock trees and need to relax for a moment or two.
Here I am at Fort De Soto park checking out a couple of palms that had a pretty good sky vue. I also usually have my pastels with me and a few scraps of my favorite pastel paper so perhaps I will show you some of my little pastel sky studies that I do while reclining.
If you know of great hammock spots around the Tampa Bay area, I would love to hear about them.
I'll write more about Fort De Soto tomorrow. Great hammocking!
